GUESS Acessories FW14 x Style Magazine
I was recently invited to the GUESS x Style: magazine handbag workshop with Keith Png, who was there to reach the guests on choosing the right size and type of bags for your body shape. Keith shared with me that petite ladies should not go for bags that are too big, such as big tote or hobo styles that overwhelm their frame. Instead, they can opt for shoulder handbags or mini cross body sling designs.
Traditionally, with its trademark question mark and inverted triangle, GUESS is known for in your face logos, monogram prints and colors. But this new season proves that the brand is so much more than that. Juliet is GUESS' latest handbag highlight of the season, with a sleek and compact body, convertible cross body shoulder straps and discreet monogramming, this range is chic without being too ostentatious. Gold metal accents and enamel charms are added to the structure silhouette of the handbags to keep it feminine for the everyday girl on the go.
The GUESS designers took into the consideration of both style and functionality as a wide range of the bags are actually convertible. Softly structured, these bags are expandable with straps or drawstrings, and they also come with interchangeable shoulder straps that allow you to carry it however you like. I particularly liked the duffel bags - made from faux leather, it came in two shades: red and beige. It comes with a drawstring closing and convertible shoulder straps as well such that you can carry it even as a backpack! I think this makes a great gym bag as it is very roomy, but yet also great with just fitted pants and a blouse when you head to the office. Talk about being multi-functional!
My favourite goes to the luxe offerings at GUESS in the form of mini handbags, hobo bags and wallets. Made from soft lamb skin leather, these ones are understated yet luxurious.
Inspired by Nashville, shoes this season takes the form of mules and wedges in printed denim - making them super comfortable since denim contours to the shape of your feet with time. Pumps in black lamb skin leather and leopard print pony hair are also my two personal favorites.
Here I'm wearing one of the open-toe booties from the new range as well. It is surprisingly comfortable, with a suede front that doesn't bite the feet. What can I say - GUESS - you've really outdone yourself this season!
