I first met the owners of FRISKYBOX during its launch party in mid August and I must admit, this is an extremely overdue post. FRISKYBOX is a lifestyle fashion brand that is synonymous with playful, lively, energetic and mischievous and retails multi-colored patterned socks and colorblocked mens' briefs and boxers. Despite being just launched, they are already available on multi-label online store Zalora.com and also Isetan and Tangs. I like FRISKYBOX because of its irreverence and fun - the colors are just too irresistible and they just go to make people happy. This was why their lookbook shots were done next to a pool with its models styled in swimwear and socks, similarly reflected in their launch party at Tanjong Beach Club where people played beer ping pong in their socks and frolicked around the pool in them!
Founded by Rakhil Fernando and Ravi Nahappan, who both happened to have boarding school experience in the UK and went on to become consultants before making a transition to fashion retail, FRISKYBOX has its socks designed and made in Sri Lanka. These two guys are also the founders of Avant Brands, which will launch a mens savile row inspired shirt brand and a performance clothing sports brand. It will also manage the sales, marketing and distribution in Asia for up and coming European clothing labels. Other exciting plans are also underway - so look out for that!
