Landed on Earth in a Parachute
Wearing Parachute blouse from Max Tan, leather skirt from thescarletroom, silver mirrored heels from Rubi
Forgive me because it has been yet another 10 days since I've blogged. I really wanted to update my blog as often as I could but I really couldn't find the time in face of mounting schoolwork, projects and deadlines. It's always been a rat race for as long as I can remember, being in an Asian and studying in a competitive school. Max Tan kindly gifted this to me, and I wore it to his SS13 show during Audi Fashion Festival. I love this blouse for its great tailoring, ballooning at the bottom to reassemble a parachute. Max is really talented at subtle tailoring, transforming blouses or shirts to be worn multiple ways. His latest collection featured real cork fabric (yes it was wine bottle corks pressed into sheets and made into fabric) and was really refreshing to look at! He revealed to me that he has been in talks with a major electric LED company to do something really groundbreaking - I'm really excited to see his new work!
Singapore needs more bold and skilled designers like Max who are unafraid to pursue their dreams and not bow down to commercial pressures of making collections that sell. (NYFW is becoming a bit too commercial to look at, save for a few good ones like Rodarte, Altuzarra, A.Wang, Prabal Gurung and Ostwald Helgason.)
